Emirates extends Dubai flight suspension as regional airspace closures continue
Passengers offered rebooking or refund options
DUBAI – Emirates has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Dubai until 15:00 UAE time on Tuesday, March 3, citing multiple regional airspace closures.
The world’s largest international airline confirmed that operations remain temporarily halted as the situation across parts of the region continues to evolve. The move follows the temporary partial closure of UAE airspace, prompting widespread flight cancellations and schedule disruptions.
The airline said it is actively monitoring developments and coordinating closely with relevant authorities. Customers have been urged to check their flight status on emirates.com before travelling to the airport.
Emirates flight suspension
All Emirates flights scheduled up to 15:00 GST on Tuesday, March 3, are cancelled. The airline described the operational environment as dynamic, with assessments being carried out continuously.
Passengers booked to travel during this period are advised not to proceed to the airport without verifying the status of their flight. Emirates has also encouraged customers to monitor their email accounts for notifications regarding changes or cancellations.
In addition, all city check-in facilities across Dubai have been temporarily closed until further notice.
Options for passengers
Customers scheduled to travel between now and Thursday, March 5, have been given flexible options.
Passengers may rebook on an alternate Emirates flight to the same destination up to 20 days from their original travel date. Those who made their reservations through travel agents must contact their agents directly, while customers who booked with Emirates can manage their bookings via the airline’s support platform.
Refunds are also available. Travellers who booked directly with Emirates may submit a refund request through the airline’s online refund form. Tickets purchased via travel agents must be processed through the respective agency.
Passengers are advised to ensure their contact details are updated through the ‘Manage Booking’ section to receive real-time updates.
Safety priority
In a statement, an Emirates spokesperson said the airline is closely engaging with authorities while prioritising passenger welfare.
“Due to multiple regional airspace closures, Emirates has temporarily suspended operations to and from Dubai,” the spokesperson said.
“Emirates urges customers to check their flight status on emirates.com for the latest updates before proceeding to the airport.
“We are actively monitoring the situation and engaging with relevant authorities.
“We apologise to customers affected by disruptions for any inconvenience caused, and we are assisting them with rebooking, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements.
“The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority.”
The airline reiterated that further updates would be shared as the operational situation develops.
